The Rowan Initiative – Housing with Dignity is a Christ-centered nonprofit dedicated to restoring safe and stable homes for those in need. We serve families in crisis, the elderly, and veterans by providing essential home repairs that protect dignity and improve quality of life.
Guided by faith, integrity, and service, we bring volunteers and resources together to meet real needs—one home at a time.

The Rowan Initiative- Housing with Dignity, provides a range of home repair and restoration services to ensure safety, accessibility, and dignity for every resident. Our services begin with critical roof repairs and extend to general home repair solutions, including weatherproofing, insulation, drywall patching, basic flooring repair, caulking, painting, minor carpentry, and accessibility modifications such as grab bar installation and ramp construction. We currently focus exclusively on work that does not require a specialty license, such as electrical, plumbing, and HVAC work.

We serve individuals and families experiencing financial hardship whose homes require repairs that affect safety or livability. This includes elderly residents, veterans, Gold Star families, and those facing unexpected hardships or crises. While income is considered, our primary focus is on the level of need rather than income alone.

We provide essential home repairs such as roofing, siding, soffit, fascia, stairs, handrails, drywall, doors, windows, and accessibility-related improvements. We do not currently perform HVAC, electrical, or plumbing unless a licensed professional is available.
